The dream catcher originated from Native American culture. Dream catcher tattoos are becoming more and more popular, however the actually meaning of a dream catcher is to alter the types of dreams that a person has. Bad dreams are caught in the dream catcher permanently, while good dreams are allowed to pass through. You know your dream catcher is full when you start having bad dreams again. Tattoos are an expression of self and should be a representation of who you are or what you've been through. Also, do not opt for "cheaper" tattoo artists. The artist can make the tattoo speak for itself.
You want to invest in your tattoos as you would invest in a car or home. Do some research, have a few different tattoo artists draw up sketches for you. Do NOT settle on your tattoo. You should never think of your tattoo as "good enough." It should be as breathtakingly elaborate or as simple as you want it to be.

Hii believe they symbolize Good dreams. Native Americans Hang them above where their heads would be when they sleep. During the night the dream catcher acts as a filter of dreams. it allows good dreams to pass through to you and catches the Bad dreams (like a bug in a spiders web) and prevents them from getting to you. then when the morning sun hits them all the bad dreams are cleansed from the dream catcher.
